Abstract
The study was made to clarify whether the degree of chromosome condensation of the heterochromatic region differs from that of the euchromatic region in colchicine-induced contraction in the primary root tips of V. faba. The results obtained did not indicate the differential chromosome condensation between heterochromatin and euchromatin.
