Abstract
Hemopoietic stem cells from donors of different ages (embryos, adults) were grafted into irradiated hosts. Cell multiplication kinetics, fetal Hb production and age-specific antigen production were examined during 2 wk after grafting. Erythrocyte characteristics are, for a large part, apparently already determined in a stem cell type endowed with a large proliferative capacity.
