Abstract
The newly revised procedure in the Bacteriological Analytical Manual of the Food and Drug Administration for the analysis of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in seafood samples and epidemic specimens is reviewed. Details of Sample preparation of seafoods and epidemic specimens, media and test reagent formulations, enrichment and isolation procedures, and the biochemical and serological diagnostic criteria of V. parahaemolyticus are presented. The biochemical schema for the separation of other interfering marine vibrios is included.Keywords
