Abstract
In vitro studies with Hymenolepis diminuta indicate that this cestode is capable of absorbing exogenous linoleic acid and incorporating this fatty acid into its tissue lipids. Approximately 80% of the incorporated linoleic acid is associated with the esterified fatty acids. Tissue section autoradio-graphs and electron microscopy reveal that this lipid is deposited primarily in fat droplets of the medullary parenchyma. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
