Abstract
An outline is given of a design-oriented course whose purpose is to involve students in the development of software tools implementing engineering and scientific computations using IBM personal computers. The goal of the course is to have the students develop software that can be used to improve the design content of other electrical engineering courses. An example is given of the use of the technique to generate computational tools that can be used in design studies for a typical course covering active and passive network synthesis and approximation. Short descriptions are given of 12 of the programs developed. Keywords
