Neutron multiplicity distributions for 1.94 to 5 GeV/cproton-, antiproton-, pion-, kaon-, and deuteron-induced spallation reactions on thin and thick targets

Abstract
Measurements of neutron multiplicity distributions of 1.94 to 5.0 GeV/c proton-, antiproton-, pion-, kaon-, and deuteron-induced spallation reactions on thin (few mm thick) and thick (35–40 cm thick) targets are presented. The 4π neutron detector employed for the first time to measure neutron multiplicity distributions from thick targets is described. Results for thin and thick targets are compared with intra- and internuclear cascade model calculations.
