Abstract
After a single injection, the Sr90 loss of lactating rats compared with virgin controls is enhanced during the first 10 days of lactation even if iuveniles are removed shortly after parturition. With injection of Sr90 10 days after parturition, the loss of Sr90 compared with that of virgin controls is high 48 h after injection. The amount lost during the following 8 days, however, is comparatively small. With injection of Sr90 10 days after parturition, the amount of Sr90 transferred to the juveniles is 2[center dot]5 times larger than with injection at the first day after parturition. During the period of lactation a strong resorption of spongiosa was histologically observed in the metaphysis of tibia and femur. This publication has 17 references indexed in Scilit:
