For children of mixed racial ancestry

Abstract
Some aspects of genetic counseling at the Dight Institute are described with respect to children of mixed racial ancestry who are candidates for adoption. Mixed racial ancestry makes original placement difficult. However, if a geneticist can predict the future appearance of a child correctly, and if placements are made accordingly, then mixed racial ancestry does not seem to affect seriously later adjustments in either the home or the community.
