Intra-atrial Catheter Placement Under Electrocardiographs Guidance

Abstract
A technic for the rapid and accurate placement of the intracardiac end of a Holter valve shunt under electrocardiographic control is described. Using a modified lead 2 recording, the desired mid-atrial position is indicated by maximum spiking of the P wave. This technic has been used successfully in more than three hundred and fifty ventricular-vascular operations on hydrocephalic infants and children.
