Abstract
For generations of fermions, we propose as the flavor gauge group. It is shown that there is a partial Glashow-Iliopoulos-Maiani mechanism which suppresses flavor-changing neutral-current processes. For four generations, we find that there can be an additional light, neutral boson with mass ≳ 100-200 GeV.
