Abstract
The deuteron photo- and electrodisintegration processes and are shown to be probes of the electromagnetic properties of , on the basis of a -exchange-reaction mechanism. The presence of the configuration in the deuteron, with an estimated probability of 1%, yields a photon cross section of the order of 1 μb at 1-2 GeV photon energy.
