Abstract
Pseudomembranous colitis was observed increasingly often after therapy with several antibiotics. A patient in whom [bacterial] pseudomembranous colitis developed is described in association with ampicillin, an extremely rare complication of this drug, and erythromycin, a drug that is not reported to cause the disease. Clinical and pathologic features, pathogenesis and management are discussed. Early diagnosis and treatment are extremely important to reduce the significant associated morbidity and mortality. This publication has 27 references indexed in Scilit:
