Abstract
Non‐domesticated animals eaten by three Etolo communities were recorded and estimates provided of the contribution these animals made to each person's daily intake of protein. At one community of 109 people, medium‐sized mammals yielded, on average, 6 g protein/person/day for a 52‐week period. The supply from this source was regular through time and was twice the protein yield received from domestic pigs.Keywords
