Abstract
Epoxides dissolved in molten tetralkylammonium salts bearing halides as counterions are converted into cyclic carbonates under atmospheric pressure of carbon dioxide. The reaction rate depends on the nucleophilicity of the halide ion as well as the structure of the cation. Keywords
