Abstract
SUMMARY: A prospective study of the renal tract in children with myelomeningocele showed a high incidence of urinary tract pathology. By the age of 2 years, 50 per cent had bacteruria, 88 per cent had abnormal cystograms and 25 per cent had hydronephrosis despite vigorous antibiotic therapy. Infections of the renal parenchyma can be distinguished by the 0 antibody titre and should be treated until the titre falls to normal, which may take many months.ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: Eine Untersuchung des Harntraktes bei Kindern mit Myelomeningocele von Geburt anEine prospektive Untersuchung des Harntraktes bei Kindern mit Myelomeningocele zeigte eine große Häufigkeit pathologischer Veranderungen des Harntraktes. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
