Abstract
Haemodynamic responses to blood volume overload of 20 ml. whole blood per kg during experimental tamponade in dogs were studied. With blood volume overload, cardiac output, stroke volume, pericardial and left atrial pressures, and PA to LA pressure gradient were increased. Loss of the “y” descent of the atrial pressure curve and reduction of PA to LA pressure gradient were noted during tamponade. Keywords
