Steroid Use by Athletes in a Metropolitan Area

Abstract
In brief: Some people believe that athletes who use anabolic steroids take more than the recommended medical dose, but little research has been done to confirm of refute this. Therefore, an oral questionnaire was administered to 24 weight training athletes who used steroids. The questions concerned the drug dosage and cycles of use, changes in body weight, side effects, other perceived effects on strength, etc, and where the athletes got the drugs. Most athletes took a combined steroid dose of four to eight times the recommended medical dose, combined (stacked) an injectable steroid with an oral steroid, and used the drugs for more than one cycle.
