Book ReviewPulmonary Pathology

Abstract
Although it is not concealed in the same etymological cloak as dermatopathology or hematopathology, pulmonary pathology can confound many students and physicians with its polysyllabic and eponymous nomenclature. Until recently, H. Spencer's Pathology of the Lung was the one comprehensive guide in this area. Here now is a long-needed alternative. At half the length of Spencer's work, this book's terseness, clarity, and scope are commendable. The composition is attractive, and the numerous photographs, photomicrographs, electron micrographs, and chest radiographs are well chosen and reproduced. An introductory chapter on pulmonary defense mechanisms and an appendix on bronchopulmonary anatomy are quite useful. . . .
