Abstract
"It was concluded that (a) authoritarian and nonauthoritarian leadership affect group performance and morale via their effects upon group independence and saturation, and that morale is affected relatively more by independence while performance is affected relatively more by saturation; and (b) authoritarian leadership produces better performance and lower morale than does nonauthoritarian leadership."
