Immunogenic Determinants in the Eye related to Corneal Structural Glycoprotein (“Keratoglycosaminoglycan”)

Abstract
(1) If it is used with prudence, the indirect immunofluorescent method has proved to be of value for studying the immunohistology of ocular tissues.Ciliary body (2)The determinants of the structural glycoprotein in the corneal (“keratoglycosaminoglycan” [KGAG]) are not only localized in the cornea but are also present in the iridal vascular walls and in the other connective tissues of the eye, which furnishes an explanation for certain phenomena which occur in eyes as a result ofcorneal transplantation.(3)KGAG is immunochemically related to the soluble protein fractions in the cornea and the sclera.
