Abstract
The article is based entirely on workers, except for [female] [female] in the case of the parasitic genera Epoecus, Anergates, and Sympheidole in which workers are not known to occur. There are keys to subfamilies, genera, and subgenera and illustrations of spp. selected as representative of the various genera and subgenera. The subfamilies, genera and subgenera are described in detail; references are given under each to the principal taxonomic and biological literature; and the available information on distr., biology and economic importance is summarized. In addition, the treatment of each genus or subgenus includes a list of the spp. or forms assigned to it. At the end of the paper there are a glossary, a list of references to the literature on the ants of the various states, and a detailed index. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
