Abstract
Microforaminiferal linings have been largely ignored by paleontologists. To rectify the omission, fourteen morphological types from palynological samples of Oxfordian age are described and illustrated, using an informal classification designed to enhance the use of these linings in biostratigraphic and paleoenvironmental research. The acritarch genus Alisum is considered to be a single chamber of a microforaminiferal lining and is therefore removed from the Group Acritarcha and placed in the Order Foraminifera. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
