Abstract
A simple colorimetric method is described for the routine estimation of vit. B1 in national flour. The vit. is extracted with dilute HC1, absorbed on activated clay (Superfiltrol) which is brought into suspension at pH 5.0 and treated with diazotized p-aminoaceto-phenone. The colored product, taken up in toluene, is compared with a standard. The accuracy compares favorably with that of the thiochrome method. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
