Abstract
The implementation of intelligent error recovery in a robot system imposes special requirements on the real time operation of the robot. This paper examines four issues raised by these requirements: real time sequence control, modeling present and past robot activities, tracking object motion, and effecting the recovery. The discussion centers around experience with the development of a prototype system to do automatic robot error recovery. Keywords
