Abstract
A total of 130 cases of acalculous cholecystitis in a series of 3932 operations for benign biliary tract diseases between 1964-1979 are discussed. The diagnosis of acalculous cholecystitis has been histologically documented in 100% of these patients. The results of surgery were satisfactory. There were no deaths, no serious complications and no postoperative signs or symptoms related to the initial disease in a follow-up of 90% over a period from 6 mo.-14 yr.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
