Abstract
The performance requirements for Zeeman modulators for nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy are discussed and a simple circuit using thyristors is described which generates an antisymmetrical half-sine current waveform in a large-diameter solenoid. The undesirable effects of the coil inductance are eliminated by controlling the thyristor firing angle. Keywords
