Abstract
The studies relative to the presence, state and combined form of vanadium in Amanita toadstools are reviewed critically. A possible role for the vanadium containing compound “amavadine” is suggested on the basis of the present knowledge of its structure, thermodynamic stability and oxidation-reduction behaviour. Keywords
