Abstract
Two recent cases of recurring digital fibrous tumor of childhood have occurred. We believe these bring the total number of recorded cases to 36. Virus cultures were negative, and the results did not support the hypothesis of a virus-induced neoplasia. Histologic preparations and electron microscopy within the cytoplasm of fibroblasts revealed dense bodies, most likely by-products of metabolically deranged tumor cells. Keywords
