Abstract
In an optically pumped 87Rb vapour, multiple quantum transitions in the ground state Zeeman sublevels are examined as a function of the radiofrequency field intensity. The experimental results are compared with existing theoretical approaches. Good agreement is found, for the resonance shifts, with the theoretical analysis based on the Hamiltonian solution for the atom plus RF field system. A more refined theory must be developed for interpreting line broadening results. Keywords
