Abstract
A compact, safe, semiautomatic, high-flow system of blood pumps-gas exchange devices is described. The blood circuits are autoclavable; the maximum output of arterialized blood is 4500 ml/min. The machine causes very little trauma to the blood elements. It needs only one professional person for its operation and one technician for maintenance. It can be used for total or partial cardiopulmonary bypass in medicine and surgery and for physiological experimentation. Submitted on May 17, 1956Keywords
