Abstract
Twinning is reported for the first time in the bats Glossophaga soricina, Artibeus jamaicensis, and Erophylla bombifrons of the American family Phyllostomatidae. The rarity of twinning in tropical species of this family is explained as a function of the typically tropical reproductive program of prolonged breeding seasons and single young born several times a year. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
