Abstract
The power of reduction of red cells from cord blood, from young infants, and from adults was compared under standard conditions. The speed of reduction of hemoglobin of brown cells of cord blood is less than that of red cells from adults. Cells of young infants show values between the other 2 types investigated. These findings appear to be an expression of varying activity of the systems of reducing enzymes in the red cells.
