Abstract
Amorphous Selenium dispersions were prepared and studied by optical methods. The metastable state of the hydrosol was obtained by using a reduction reaction of Selenious Acid in equilibrium. It was found that the hydrosol should be aged for several days making it useful for quantitative studies. The particle's size determination supports the hypothesis that they exist in a near embryo state in the dark and develop to a full grown size under photoactivation.
