It is shown that Fermi energization in magnetized turbulent flows favors protons rather than electrons unless the flows are in a one-temperature magnetically dominated regime. This is fortunate for two-temperature advection dominated accretion flow (ADAF) models which explain low luminosity stellar and galactic accreting sources and anchor observational support for black holes in nature. To ensure low radiative efficiencies, ADAFs require that particle energization processes strongly favor protons. The electron favored regime is relevant for solar flares and some accretion disk-corona models.
