Abstract
Statistical analysis of 319 case histories of mandibular fractures reveals certain significant associations. Results indicate that there is a significant association between the state of dentition and the fracture location. In dentulous individuals and patients with a few individual teeth missing the association between site of trauma and location of the fracture is statistically significant. Here, impacts to the angle or body produce more fractures in these regions than one would expect by chance alone, whereas chin point impacts produce more subcondylar fracture than would be expected by chance. More single fractures are produced by angle-body impacts, whereas impacts to the chin point produce more triple fractures than by chance alone. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
