Ionization of liquid argon by X-rays: -value

Abstract
Liquid argon at 87 °K was irradiated with 1.5 MeV X-rays. Saturation currents were achieved at low dose rates. The energy required to produce an ion pair [Formula: see text] was found to be 22.5 ± 3 eV, which is similar to the gas phase value.Keywords
