Abstract
A method is described of preparing single crystals of Fe-3% Si alloy up to 13 mm in diameter and 200 mm long, with any given orientation. A seed, prepared beforehand is melted to a rod of polycrystalline material and recrystallization is then carried out in a temperature gradient. The attempts to prepare oriented single crystals of this alloy by pressing an oriented seed to a polycrystalline material before recrystallization were not sufficiently successful. Keywords
