Abstract
Conventional Plastic Burn Analysis (PBA) using full burns in whole blocks or “split” blocks is shown to be useful mainly for qualitative measurement of CO2 laser beam profiles. A new technique using half burns (PBA/H) and a gas purge has been developed for making quantitative profile measurements. Timed sequence burns have also been demonstrated to measure constant intensity contours and hence beam symmetry. Keywords
