Abstract
Male mice of the A-, C-, C3H-, and dba-stocks were considerably more susceptible to 3 strains of Trypanosoma cruzi than 9 mice of corresponding age and stock. This sex-influenced difference was studied quantitatively and was found to be consistent with regard to trypansome populations in the blood, degree of tissue infection, loss of body wt., and survival of hosts. The data are discussed from the point of view of metabolic differences between the sexes, and several possibilities for practical application of the findings are suggested. Keywords
