Abstract
The authors present arguments and results which show the importance of combined static/dynamic bifurcation analysis and of careful machine modeling in the study of voltage collapse. The value of modal coupling measures in this area is demonstrated. An example illustrating bifurcations en route to voltage collapse is presented.<>Keywords
