Radiation doses delivered to the skin, bone marrow and gonads of patients during cardiac catheterisation and angiocardiography

Abstract
The radiological techniques used in cardiac catherisation and angiocardiography at Brompton Hospital are described. The radiation doses to the skin, bone marrow and gonads in a series of 91 patients are estimated. The doses delivered during the various procedures are critically analysed and the results are presented in a manner which should enable other centres to make a reasonable assessment of patient dose.
