Abstract
About 15 years have passed since the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed by P. Mouret in 1987. In this period the laparoscopic approach has been applied more and more frequently to the full spectrum of abdominal surgery, becoming the gold standard in the surgical treatment of many pathologies such as biliary lithiasis and gastro‐oesophageal reflux. Furthermore, it is routinely used in other procedures such as splenectomy, surrenalectomy, appendicectomy, groin hernia and colectomy [ 1 x 1 Samama, G., Chiche, L., Brefort, J.L., and Le Roux, Y.
