Abstract
The configuration and climb rate of a dislocation which is pinned at two points are calculated using analytical and numerical techniques for the cases where the predominant diffusive mass transport is by both lattice and dislocation core diffusion. The ranges are determined where approximate analytical solutions may be employed. The contribution of climb to anelastic creep is calculated and the results are indicated on a deformation diagram. Keywords
