Abstract
The Perseus cluster has been observed using the Cambridge One-Mile Telescope at 408 MHz with a beamwidth of 5 × 7.5 arcmin and a dynamic range of more than 200: 1. The results confirm the presence of a faint extension to the NE of NGC 1265 and a large diffuse envelope around NGC 1275, but not the radio halo described by Ryle & Windram. These authors may have been misled by the localized nature of the extended regions near NGC 1265 and 1275.Keywords
