KETOPROFEN IN THE MANAGEMENT OF OSTEOARTHROSIS OF THE HIP: COMPARISON WITH PHENYLBUTAZONE

Abstract
In a double-blind comparative study in 47 patients with osteoarthrosis of the hip it has been shown that there is little to choose in efficacy between ketoprofen 200 mg. daily and phenylbutazone 300 mg. daily. There were no significant differences in any of the parameters measured. Side-effects were mild in both groups, and no significant changes occurred in haematological and biochemical investigations carried out.
