Abstract
The equilibrium phases in the lithium sulfide‐ferrous sulfide system were determined by differential thermal analysis and x‐ray diffraction analysis. A compound , which melts incongruently at to , and a liquid containing approximately , and has a transition at , was found. A eutectic between and was observed at and . The terminal liquidus curves, computed by the application of Temkin's model, were found to be in good agreement with those experimentally determined. X‐ray diffraction studies confirmed the transition in the compound and also indicated compounds and , between , , and .Keywords
