Abstract
Fifty rabbits, aged 15-20 weeks, received, in groups, saline emulsions or sterile acid and alkaline extracts of anterior pituitary of beef, or control injections. The control injections were ineffective. The animals treated with pituitary substance (0.1-1.0 gm. or equivalent of extracts) for 2-7 days showed thyroid hyperplasia. Animals treated for 7-12 days showed early regressive and involutional changes following hyperplasia. Animals treated for 12-28 days showed increased involution and atrophy of epithelium and marked colloid storage. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
