Patient beam positioning system using CT images

Abstract
If treatment planning is done using the CT scanner's computer immediately the images are produced and before the patient's position is changed, then what is required is a mechanism to transfer back to the patient the resulting beam positioning information. A system that does this is described. The system consists of a central processing unit (PDP-LSI-11), main memories, peripheral memories (DISK and MT), and an image display unit.
