Abstract
Hibernoma is a tumor of brown fat origin with hypervascularity and features on magnetic resonance imaging that resemble liposarcoma. Despite these similarities, malignant potential has not been demonstrated. Complete marginal resection with meticulous hemostasis is the treatment of choice. This article describes the case of a patient with an unusually large medial thigh hibernoma demonstrating the clinical presentation and radiographic and pathologic features of this rare benign soft tissue tumor. Keywords
