Abstract
Interprofessional and multi-agency training and working is a highly complex business. Professionals who ignore the complexity of training do so at their peril. The challenges are evident in ideological differences, power and status relationships, different professional and organisational cultures, language differences and poor communications. By addressing these challenges, opportunities should be available for all participating professionals and agencies to influence the planning process to ensure the commitment of resources and personnel for interprofessional and multi-agency working.
